WEEK 1:
June 23 – June 27
Adventure Awaits: The Magic of Books
Embark on fun reading adventures discovering new stories and characters through creative games and storytelling. Enjoy a reading campout or a scavenger hunt at the Los Angeles Central Library.
Special activity: Reading Campout (Sparrow Scouts) / Scavenger Hunt @ LA Central Library (Raccoon Rangers, Coyote Campers & Grizzly Guides).
WEEK 2:
June 30 – July 3
July 4 – NO CAMP (4th of July)
Epic Stories of the Prophets: Inspiring Tales of Faith and Courage
Take a trip back in time to learn about prominent prophets who were sent to different communities in the past. Their wisdom and stories still apply to our world today.
Special activity: Water slide.
WEEK 3:
July 7 – July 11
Buzzing Bees and Tall Trees: Nature’s Amazing Team
Discover the miracles of bees and trees and their gifts to our world. Find out more about how they work together to benefit our planet.
Special activity: Field Trip to the LA Arboretum.
WEEK 4:
July 14 – July 18
Echoes of Al-Andalus: Exploring the Art and Architecture of Islamic Spain
Take a journey through the rich history of Islamic Spain or Al-Andalus. Explore Islamic art and architecture, delving into geometric designs and mosaics while visiting structures like the Alhambra and the cities of Granada, Toledo, and Cordoba.
Special activity: Water slide.
WEEK 5:
July 21 – July 25
Deep Space Adventures on the New Horizons Spacecraft
Did you know that the universe contains hundreds of billions of galaxies? Take a trip on NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft to learn more!
Special activity: Griffith Observatory.
Activities Include:
• Arabic Excursions:
Explore the Arabic language through cooking, games, art, and fun.
• Motion Commotion:
Get active and fit through sports and movement.
• STEMtastic & Brain Games:
Challenge your mind with science and engineering activities.
• Inside the Garden & Outside Art:
Make discoveries in the garden and get creative with art.
• Contemplation Time:
Take time for prayer, Qur’an and quiet story time.
• Lunch & Snack Time:
Bring your own lunch and snacks for fun breaks in the day. We are a peanut free Camp.
• Water Wednesdays:
Bring your water blasters and have fun with water games.
• Friday Jamboree:
Come together for our Jamboree circle and enjoy the fun activities!
• Field Trip Fridays:
Take a trip to Griffith Park, LA Central Library and LA Arboretum on weeks 1, 3 & 5.
• Water Slide:
On weeks 2 & 4.
Camper Age Groups:
Camp is open to all students, attending NHSP or not.
Camp Teams
Raccoon Rangers – Entering Grade 1 and 2
Coyote Campers – Entering Grade 3 and 4
Grizzly Guides – Entering Grade 5 and 6
All activities are customized to each age group.
Cost Camp
Non-refundable deposit: $100
Before June 13, cancellations include a 75% refund. After June 13, cancellations include a 0% refund.
Exceptions allowed with proof of medical condition that prevents student from attending more than 2 days.
